Hi, I’m Justin Carmony. I am a professional web designer and software engineer who specializes in LAMP and Microsoft solutions. In my off time I enjoy writing piano music and reading. I’m married to my wonerful wife Joanna where we live in our little house in Ogden, Utah.

Professional Work

I’ve been a software engineer with an empasis on web development for the last 6 years. I started off with PHP / MySQL solutions, which is still my favorite web development platform. In 2006 I started working for a Microsoft shop “Ambient Partners LLC.” I helped engineer and develop software for DVD Rental Kiosks for several companies. After helping Ambient create a powerful solution for DVD kiosks and Ambient was bought by NCR, I left in 2008 to go into business with my father Kevin Carmony on the website Dating DNA.

I’ve now been working for Dating DNA for three years, and we’ve made a lot of progress. I’ve also had the opportunity to work on several other neat projects, including some for Dell and nVidia. You can check out some of my favorite projects in my portfolio.

Open Source

I’ve been a core team member of the Utah Open Source Foundation now for two years. I’ve helped organize the 2009 and 2010 Utah Open Source Conference.
